I Want To Look Younger

What Happens to Our Face As We Age?

Ageing of the face can start as early as 20 and continues throughout your life. How fast your face ages and to what extent differs from person to person. These things typically happen as you age:

  • Facial Bone Changes: The bones are the foundation for your facial muscles, fat pads and skin. As you age, there is facial bone loss, which changes the dimensions and contour of your face.
  • Deep Tissues Loose Elasticity As you age, you experience a loss of collagen in the deep tissues which results in the face sagging down and the development of nasolabial lines, marionette lines and jowls.
  • Volume Loss from Fat Pads: These are located deep in the face above the bones and also below the skin’s surface. As you age, they get thinner and descend. Hollows can form beneath the eyes. Drooping tissues can cause deep lines around the nose and mouth. There is heaviness in the lower face causing jowls and the neck giving the appearance of a double chin.
  • Skin Changes and Wrinkles: As you age, you experience a loss of collagen and elastin which results in the development of laugh lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. There may be pores, reduction in hydration and a rougher texture.

What Can We Do To Treat These Changes?

There are many ways we can treat these changes to overall make you look younger. These include:

Anti-Wrinkle Treatments

Nurse Susie can administer Botox which works by relaxing the muscle to smooth out the wrinkles, creating a more youthful and relaxed appearance.

Dermal Filler

You may have started to notice lines appearing from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds) or from the corners of your mouth to your chin (marionette lines). You may have lost volume in your midface or even have lines above your lip. Dermal filler is an ideal treatment for these issues. Dermal filler is an injectable treatment containing Hyaluronic acid. This treatment is prefect for replacing lost volume or smoothing out deeper wrinkles.

Profhilo®

Profhilo is one of the most proven effective skin remodelling agents available. As well as filling lines and wrinkles, Profhilo® tightens and firms loose facial skin, delivering visible improvements after just two treatments. It is ideal for overall facial rejuvenation and targeting difficult areas which only usually show improvement with surgery, such as tightening loose skin around, and under the chin, and firming crepey and lax neck skin. It uses one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic acid on the market (64mg / 2ml).

Ever Active Vitamin C&E

This natural antioxidant has been shown to be extremely effective in preventing and treating skin ageing. When applied to the skin it encourages new collagen to grow. It also helps maintain the collagen you do have and protects the precious protein from damage.

Broad Spectrum SPF

This SPF creates a layer on the skin that physically blocks the harmful UVA,UVB and UVC rays. Hence the name, broad spectrum. It is the UVA rays that cause the ageing affect on the skin. As it causes the breakdown of collagen, which leads to wrinkles.
